This is where I sat with my morning coffee and contemplated life. I watched squirrels and cardinals while I admired the nice job of raking John did. That was last weekends work.
I want to fill you in on this weekend.s work and play "catch up" here.
We mostly did odds and ends over the weekend. Monday we drove to Vidalia (the L is silent by the way) to go to Lowe's for drywall for the bedroom. So here is a baker's dozen pictures of what we have done.
I started to paint the trim in the tiny hall with the four doors that lead to the living room, bedroom, upstairs bedroom, and screen porch. I'm deciding on blue, blue, or blue.
We put up the drywall. Here is a Before and After picture. The other picture is of the closet in that room. It still boasts the original wallpaper. John had to make a lot of holes in the walls to run wire from the attic.
Next is the hallway I painted. The exterior door has some type of lame framing. I got tired of looking at it, it was time to paint. I went as high as I could without using a ladder. We may just have to break down and buy a Walmart ladder. We have a 3 foot ladder and a 12 foot ladder ( the one I fell off) each are not what I want to be climbing on. But for now, they worked. Not sure what color the walls will be. I'm only on my second coat on the woodwork. The ceiling and walls are old bead board and shiplap. Each are a pain to paint.

After
Next is four pictures of some outdoor work that has been done. We scrapped the north side of the shed. John calls it his future bnb. We plan to art it up a bit.
The next two pictures are of a brick design we created to cover up an old rusty bucket turned upside down with another plastic upside down bucket that covered an old propane tank what must have been used back in the day. All it was good for was something for Nutzy and Kepper to pee on.
And last but surely not least . . . my tired old husband taking a sit down. When we first got here everything was so filthy. That grating was in the front door screen. It is a rather unique antique piece. Of course the screen was torn, the door was dirty. John took it off and spray painted it. He re-screened the door and painted it. We never put the grate back. Well after Nutzy decided he'd try to walk through the door while it was shut. we thought it was a good idea to reinforce the new back screen door.
And with that we say, "Good Night".
